Non Pass Holders

If you are visiting RAAF Richmond Gliding Club for a flight or coming along to watch there are a few important things that you need to know and do. Due to the location of our club, we have a number of restrictions that we must adhere to.

Prior to Visiting Us

  1. [IMPORTANT] Complete the RAAF Richmond Induction as soon as possible. This must be completed by each person visiting who is aged 16 years and over.
  2. Keep a copy of the Induction completion email or print a hard copy. This must be kept with you for the duration of the visit.
  3. All visitors aged 16 and over, must bring photo identification, such as a drivers licence or student identification card.
  4. All visitors must be Australian Citizens, unless previously cleared by the RAAF Richmond Gliding Club with Base Security.
  5. Plan to arrive at the RAAF Richmond Pass Office at the agreed time. Enter the car park via the roundabout on Dight St. DO NOT approach or enter via the main entry gates.
  6. Wait at the covered entrance or inside the pass office for a Gliding Club representative to meet you.

Upon Arrival – Getting a Visitor Pass

After we meet with you, we will arrange a visitor pass for each person aged 16 years and over. This usually takes 10 minutes for up to 4 people. If your visiting group has more than 4 people, this must be communicated to us prior to arrival for approval and so we can accommodate this safely.

Once you have your pass, we will then escort you to our operational area. You may continue to drive your own vehicle under this escort.

Entering the Gates Under Escort

We’ll normally lead the way in our vehicle, and you will follow us in your own vehicle. As you approach the gate, stop beside the proximity card reader. The driver will need to hold the visitor cards against the card reader one at a time hearing a single beep. After each card has been successfully authorised the boom gate will open (remaining open while cards are scanned). Do not enter until each visitor (aged 16 years or over) has had their card scanned successfully.

Now, while the gate is open, promptly proceed, and follow the escort vehicle. Ensure you follow any directions given to you from the escort (RAAF Richmond Gliding Club representative).

If you encounter any issues, press the help/assistance button near the card reader. The escort will wait until any issues are resolved.
